Welcome to the Nonprofit Resource Center!

We are the nine Nonprofit Resource Specialists who work for Bremer Bank in Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin. Nonprofit Resource Specialist is a unique position that works with local nonprofit communities, helping organizations and coalitions develop their capacity to serve clients and communities. Our unique position is just as unique as our employer - Bremer Bank. Bremer Bank is a privately-held financial services company jointly owned by its employees and the Otto Bremer Foundation. Bremer Bank’s profits are distributed in the form of charitable grants by the Otto Bremer Foundation to communities served by Bremer. The ownership structure is the only one of its kind in the nation.

The founder of Bremer Bank was Otto Bremer, who established the unique ownership structure in 1943. He said, “to serve our clients, we must also serve our communities.” We hope that you enjoy reading our blog and will participate in our dialog as we explore different issues and trends in the nonprofit communities of Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin.
