Fargo-Moorhead Coalition for Homeless Persons

On Thursday, August 7, the Fargo-Moorhead Coalition for Homeless Persons hosted its third Project Homeless Connect at Centennial Hall in the Fargo Civic Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Coalition’s Project Homeless Connect is a one-day, one-stop event that brings approximately 50 agencies and 100 volunteers together under one roof to connect homeless persons to vital services. Services offered at the event include housing, employment, medical/dental, haircuts, food, transportation and others. More than 300 homeless persons participated in this year's event, which is one of the steps in the Fargo Ten Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness. This event included a North Dakota gubernatorial candidates’ forum that was moderated by a formerly homeless person with questions coming from homeless and imminently homeless people. North Dakota Lt. Governor Jack Dalrymple and North Dakota Senator Tim Mathern participated in the forum.
