From the Great Plains Food Bank:
September 29, 2008 – FARGO, ND - The Great Plains Food Bank is honoring three community partners with its Hunger Relief Champion Award because of their extraordinary contributions and commitment to end hunger and feed hope for thousands of individuals across North Dakota and Clay County, Minnesota. The 2008 awards are presented to The Pampered Chef, Bremer Banks and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
Food banks across the country are challenging people to raise their voices and take a stand against hunger as September is designated as Hunger Action Month. “We couldn’t think of a more appropriate time to recognize three of our community partners who bring tremendous awareness and an incredible dedication to the elimination of hunger for children, seniors and working families struggling to put food on the table,”says Steve Sellent, Great Plains Food Bank program director. “As we move closer to our vision of hunger free communities, we are honored to have these advocates leading the way.”
The Pampered Chef, Bremer Banks and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans are being recognized as hunger relief champions because of their outstanding leadership and drive to eradicate hunger, their effort to engage their customers and clients in this issue, and their challenge to other like minded community organizations to join them in leveraging support.
