Fargo Youth raised $192,000 plus food for Homeless

Fargo youth from more than 17 churches learned a lot about hunger and homelessness recently. Hundreds of young people participated in a fund and food raising weekend and in the process raised just under $200,000 and collected thousands of pounds of food in a community food drive.

In order to participate, each youth was asked to raise $365. It's thought that your can feed a person for $1 a day, so each participant was responsible for feeding one person for a year. In addition, most slept outdoors in cardboard boxes in the rain and fasted for 30 hours. They then went door-to-door to collect food for the food drive.

The money and food will go to six homeless shelters in the Fargo-Moorhead metro area and four other organizations supporting services for the homeless.
