On the topic of grant writing - as Nonprofit Resource Specialists we have access through the Minnesota Council on Foundations (MCF) to the Minnesota Grantmakers Online which is a listing of Minnesota Grantmakers. By inputting Areas of Interest, Types of Support, and Geographic Focus Area a listing of possible funders will come up. We can then go to grantmakers Web sites to find out more in-depth information on the funders. It is important to do a thorough search of foundations, making sure your program and your mission fits with the funding guidelines and geographic focus of funders before taking the time to write and submit grant requests. MCF also has good information on How to Write a Successful Grant Proposal on its Web site.
