Young Organization Having Great Impact

I have had the priviledge of getting to know one of the founders of a nonprofit organization Students Today Leaders Forever (STLF). Greg, the leader of the organization, has a real passion for the mission and his hard work is inspiring. This organization works to engage young people in real life servant leadership opportunites through the Pay it Forward tours and then come back to their own communities where they are committed to take action. STLF started as a student organization at the U of M in 2003, where the four founders attended college – and is now reaching thousands of students and hundreds of communities across the United States as a 501c3 organization.

It is refreshing to see how this group of Millenials with their energy & passion, new ideas, knowledge of social networking and technology have in a short couple years launched a successful nonprofit that is having huge impact on communities and the students who participate.

The information below was taken from their Web site.

Who We Are - Students Today Leaders Forever
We are an optimistic group of students who engage in servant leadership to create positive life experiences. With a mission to reveal leadership through service relationships, and action, STLF is engaging college, high school students in meaningful service and leadership experiences.

Why does STLF exist?
Stemming from a late-night dorm room conversation among four college freshmen at the University of Minnesota, STLF is now a student volunteer-driven nonprofit that impacts people and communities across the country. STLF has three primary means of carrying out its mission:

Pay It Forward Tour - Engages students in a traveling leadership experience focused on service, education, and reflection.

High School Leadership Camp - Focused and intensive leadership experience through which students build lasting relationships and discover personal and transferable skills and leadership.
Forward Impact - Young people are returning from STLF experiences inspired to carry out commitments of action and service in their own lives and communities.

Where is STLF?
STLF has a national office based in Minneapolis, MN, and student-led college chapters and school partners spreading from the Midwest across the country. Students on STLF's Pay It Forward Tours serve in hundreds of communities each year from coast to coast.
