From Our Blog Contest: Strategic Plan

Highlighting below another great entry for our blog contest that was not part of the top five group. This idea comes from the Granite Falls Living at Home Block Nurse Program in Granite Falls, Minn.

In most cases, the lack of a Strategic Plan, will lead to poor board performance. If the organization lacks a strategic plan that provides clear direction which is so critical in this period of rapid change, the board can spend significant amounts of time talking about topics that simply don't matter. Related to the absence of a strategic plan is the lack of a long-range service delivery and financial development plan that will advantage the strategic plan.

We find that more people want to be on a board that shows direction and is not a waste of their time. People like and want to be a part of something that is showing good results. A Strategic Plan really works!
