“What we hear from leaders more than anything else these days is the desire to build their skill at leading through change. It’s about developing resilience,” says Christie Hammes, Director of Strategic Services at MAP for Nonprofits. MAP for Nonprofits is one of the partners in the Resilient Organizations Fund, developed by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation in response to the Great Recession. According to Hammes, leading through change requires the ability to face reality, find meaning in it and improvise, making the most of the assets and resources available.
