People Like Me Can Do It

This comment by United Way of Southwest Minnesota's Volunteer of the Year Award Winner, Keith Miller, couldn't have been said better. Miller was talking to a crowd of business, agency, and community supporters on March 4 who all helped the United Way, headquartered in Marshall, MN, celebrate a successful 2010-2011 campaign which raised over a half million dollars. Also a United Way board member, he commented how everyone working together makes it easy. It was a reminder to all that being helpful doesn't require anything beyond what each of us has to give. You and I can make a difference, and when we get involved, we do make a difference.

Also that day, Bremer Bank - Marshall employees organized a Chili Cook-Off to add additional donations to their status in United Way's Gold Award Category -- 100% participation of the employee group for this year's campaign. Bremer is proud of its community's United Way and the energetic, hard-working staff, board members and campaign volunteers.

Congratulations on an outstanding year! Keith Miller and his teammates proved that "people like me can do it."
