Bremer Giving

Bremer is known for giving – and one of those ways is through its local donations. In 2011, the Morris/Starbuck banks will give nearly $14,000 to local organizations and causes. Morris is part of the Alexandria charter, which is expected to give approximately $129,000 throughout the Alexandria, Breckenridge, Brandon, Fergus Falls, Morris, Starbuck and Wahpeton communities.

Two donations were recently awarded in Morris totaling $2,000. More details below.

Louis Folkman, coordinator of the Stevens County Youth Activity Fund receives a check from the Bremer Donations Committee. The Youth Activity Fund provides financial support to families in Stevens County to help pay for activities such as athletic fees to participate in sports, band rental fees, swimming lessons, community education classes, and ECFE classes. The Youth Activity Fund is a local fund maintained solely by local donations. To find out more about or to donate to the Fund contact Human Services at 208-6600.

Peggy Kill, field representative with the Salvation Army receives a check from the Bremer Donations Committee. Funds will be used to help families with emergency needs and for the Toys for Tots Christmas program. The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His Name without discrimination.
