How You Get To Know One Another

Johnson, Brennan, Schmidt
The President’s Day gathering of the Mankato Downtown Kiwanis was a fast-paced and fantastic opportunity for Bremer Bank, Mankato to show and tell The Bremer Story and to learn a little bit about what’s important to Kiwanis members here.

Bremer Bank Senior Retail Manager Shane Johnson and I were welcomed by Mike Brennan, Club President and President of Brennan Companies in Mankato.

“Great Questions” kept things lively!
• How did Bremer get to be Bremer?
• What’s the idea around Bremer’s nine banking charters & where are they?
• What kinds of projects & organizations does the Otto Bremer Foundation support?
• How do the Bank and the Foundation work together to distribute these millions of dollars in grants?

In turn, we were introduced to and learned about Kiwanis’ sponsorship of Camp Patterson youth facility and campground. We also heard lots of comments around growing community enthusiasm in a Sibley Park Community Project that will be a spectacular holiday attraction that organizers say is a much-needed seasonal centerpiece to bring Mankato area families & friends together.

I loved the initiative, community spirit and quick thinking of the Kiwanis’ member who raised his hand and threw out the “Best Question” of all: Would Otto Bremer have loved holiday lights?
