The Sleeping Giant Has Awakened

Last Thursday, we had a power packed and exciting advocacy meeting with about 30 area nonprofit and key business leaders in the Grand Forks commuity. The excitement and interest is brewing. We decided as nonprofit leaders we have a duty and interest in creating a stronger voice and creating a place at the table where decisions are made and policy is put into place. We were also encouraged by business leaders to celebrate and articulate our success to our community.

This initial meeting identified three goals:
1. Solidarity
2. Education and information sharing with the public
3. Present and develop policy agenda

We underestimate the power and influence we have by the quality work, great minds and impact we make in our community. We need to celebrate our success and articulate the work we do in our communities, both socially and economically.
