Bremer to Co-Sponsor Healthy Communities Dialogue

In an effort to bring together the nonprofit community in our area in a discussion about building healthy communities, Bremer is proud to be a co-sponsor of the “Building Healthy Communities, a Foundation/Nonprofit Dialogue” event Dec. 2, 2008, in St. Cloud, Minn. In partnership with the Central Minnesota Community Foundation and the Initiative Foundation, we invite you to attend, listen, and contribute to conversations with leaders of the Bush Foundation (Peter Hutchinson), McKnight Foundation (Kate Wolford), and the Otto Bremer Foundation (Randi Roth) to explore ways in which we can address opportunities to create stronger communities in St. Cloud and the surrounding area. Steve Joul, president of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation will moderate this panel discussion, which will follow an overview of the philanthropic sector presented by Bill King of the Minnesota Council on Foundations.

The morning will begin with an overview of the nonprofit sector, economy and trends presented by Jon Pratt of the Minnesota Council on Nonprofits. Pratt will later moderate a panel of local nonprofit leaders, who will share information about pressing issues facing our local and rural communities. This information will be utilized as the basis for our dialogue, that will occur following the Foundation panel presentation, about ways in which can address opportunities and build healthy communities.
