Speaking of Money

It’s not how much you have, it’s how you manage what you have.

One of the most dynamic groups I work with and am a part of in my Marshall, Minn., Bremer community is the Marshall area Financial Empowerment Collaborative (MFEC). The group’s mission is to strengthen the financial well-being of our community by providing information, education and support for people making decisions on a variety of financial management issues.

Let me say that again: “making decisions on a variety of financial management issues.” Since it’s common to deal at many levels with money and financial situations in our society, you may agree with me that this topic affects everyone.

An example of MFEC’s projects includes developing a virtual financial resources center with something for everyone. Whether you are interested in figuring out if you can handle another payment, how to protect yourself from identity theft, looking for financial tools & teaching resources for children or students, checking out a wage and budget calculator, locating the annual credit report site, an income tax clinic or leads to answers for lots of other questions, check out our site: www.marshallmoney.org.
