Recent Otto Bremer Foundation Grant Recipients: Minneapolis Area

The November grant review cycle recently completed and the following are grants that were recently authorized in the Minneapolis area Bremer communities.

Heartstrings Unlimited, Inc. (Bloomington, MN) = $20,000 for general operations of the Children’s Respite Home program.

Aeon Homes (Minneapolis, MN) = $300,000 to assist with acquisition and start-up costs for a property management entity.

The Cookie Cart (Minneapolis, MN) = $20,000 to support job training programs for youth living in or near North Minneapolis.

Dunwoody College of Technology (Minneapolis, MN) = $60,000 to develop an English Language Learner Technical cirriculum.

Jordan New Life Hub (Minneapolis, MN) = $30,000 for general operations of this multi-service organization.

La Escuelita (Minneapolis, MN) = $70,000 for general operations of this organization which serves the Latino community.

Lao Advancement Organization of America (Minneapolis, MN) = $45,000 to organize, plan and implement a collaboration between the Lao community.

Metro Meals on Wheels, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN) = $45,000 for general operations of this organization that serves seniors.

Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board (Minneapolis, MN) = $15,000 to support the Youth Congress.

Minnesota Council on Foundations (Minneapolis, MN) = $27,100 for membership dues.

Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center (Minneapolis, MN) = $95,000 to build internal leadership and capacity through a matching grant.

People Serving People, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN) = $50,000 for general operations of this emergency housing shelter.

SEWA-AIFW (Minneapolis, MN) = $30,000 to provide support for a project which will reduce the gap between refugee and immigrant populations and assist with employment, housing and education.

Twin Cities Urban Squash, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN) = $10,000 for general operations fo this after-school academic enrichment program.

University of Minnesota, Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (Minneapolis, MN) = $55,000 for the Children, Youth and Family Consortium’s Family Impact Policy Initiative.

Victory Through Faith Inc. (Minneapolis, MN) = $40,000 to support this organization that addresses the need for long-term and aftercare rehabilitative services.

WATCH (Minneapolis, MN) = $40,000 to support a project which monitors and documents child protection cases in Hennepin County.
