Honoring Our Children

I recently had the chance to learn about the St. Croix Tribal Council, Honoring Our Children Project (HOC) project. HOC received a grant Otto Bremer Foundation of $70,000 to increase chances for infant survival and promote infant, women’s and family health.

HOC project activities teach families about health and safety and help them have healthier pregnancies. The project staff offers support for healthy living by encouraging families to become smoke-free house-holds, to breastfeed, to get their children vaccines and to follow-up with a physician’s care.

HOC is dedicated to reducing Native American infant disease and death rates and eliminating differences in perinatal health in Wisconsin.

A great organization. For more information, visit: http://www.glitc.org/.
