According to The Minnesota Nonprofit Economy Report, almost half of our nonprofits were deficit spending in 2009. That percentage (48%) is up from 34% in 2007. During the same period revenue had fallen slightly and assets declined by an average of two percent. Those factors may negatively impact the financial health of the sector.
