Consortium uses Bremer Foundation grant to create website for low-literacy consumers

MARSHALL - In the year 2018, 70 percent of all jobs in Minnesota will require some postsecondary training, said a report from the Governor's Workforce Development Council.

Today, only 40 percent of working-age adults in Minnesota have a postsecondary degree.

To help bridge that gap, Pat Thomas, the coordinator for Adult Basic Education Southwest Minnesota, said, SW ABE and Julia Carlo of Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council, applied for a $100,000 grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation to create a website geared for the low-level literacy consumer.
