The Otto Bremer Foundation recently supported Habitat for Humanity in St. Croix Falls, Wis., with a $35,000 grant to be used to start-up a new ReStore. ReStore is a store that has used furniture, appliances and other household items available for re-sell. All the profits from the new ReStore will be used to fund the building of houses in Polk and Burnett Counties. Donations are tax deductible.
According to officials at Habitat for Humanity, area landfill operators report that a week’s worth of construction demolition materials diverted from the landfill can build a moderate-sized home. For more information on the St. Croix Falls ReStore, please call 715-483-2700.
